Zeno Emara Electric Motorcycle: Bengaluru-based Zeno Motors has now marked its entry in the Indian electric two-wheeler space with its maiden offering, the Emara electric motorcycle. With a price tag of ₹1.19 lakh (ex-showroom), this Made-in-India electric bike is claimed to target the entry-level 100-150cc motorcycle segment, which has been predominantly ruled by petrol-powered commuters such as Hero Splendor, Honda Shine and others. Founded by ex-senior leadership from Ola Electric, Ather, Tesla, and Apple, Zeno combines global expertise to tackle local mobility problems.
The hum of the Emara becomes a little more intriguing once you factor in its electric bike utility-first design and flexible charging options. “With the Emara, we have created a sport utility motorcycle that is tough enough to work a full day… and flexible enough for our customers to charge the way they want, where they want,” said Michael Spencer, Zeno’s C.E.O. The firm has announced some lucrative pre-booking discounts with the price going as low as ₹64,000 under their Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model.
Strong and Efficient Performance with Rugged Design
The Zeno Emara is propelled by an 8 kW motor, which is placed in the middle of the motorcycle, and the top speed it can reach is 95 kmph – comparable with conventional motorcycles of 125–150cc. The motorcycle, like a workhorse, is prepared for any terrain – with high-level performance specifications that include a 30-degree gradeability even with passengers on board.

With a 190mm ground clearance, the Emara handles bumps and potholes with ease – a critical trait for Indian road conditions. In terms of design, the motorcycle is a mix of utility and style. A high-rise mudguard and compact windscreen give it a rugged stance. Perhaps most impressive is its 250 kg load-carrying capacity – far higher than most commuter motorcycles.
The Emara weighs 160 kg and comes equipped with 17-inch wheels, a telescopic front fork, and twin rear shock absorbers for added comfort on variable terrain. Its long single-piece seat stretches from the “fuel tank” area all the way to the tail – ideal for long rides and cargo.
Zeno Emara electric motorcycle launched with introductory prices starting at ₹ 1 lakh and Rs 64,000 when opting for Battery as a service.

Revolutionary Battery and Charging System
What sets the Emara apart is its approach to batteries and charging. The bike features a 4 kWh battery offering a 120 km IDC range (100 km real-world). Zeno has created a “multi-modal charging ecosystem” – a first for India’s EV two-wheeler space.
You get three ways to charge:
- Swap a drained battery for a fully charged one at Zeno stations – in just 25 seconds
- Use Type 6 public fast chargers – a full charge in just 1.5 hours
- Or charge at home – takes about 6 hours
The battery uses LFP (lithium-ferro-phosphate) cells and comes with an impressive 3.5 lakh km warranty (unlimited under the BaaS model). It’s like carrying your own network of fuel stations – wherever you ride.
Flexible Pricing and Innovative Ownership Models
Zeno has launched two Emara ownership models to reach more buyers. First, the traditional full-ownership plan: buy the motorcycle and battery together at ₹1.19 lakh. Early buyers enjoy these discounts:
- First 5,000 orders: ₹1,00,000
- Next 5,000 orders: ₹1,04,000
- Orders 10,000–20,000: ₹1,09,000
Or go with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model: buy the motorcycle without the battery for ₹79,000 and pay monthly for battery usage. Pre-order prices under BaaS are even better:
- First 5,000 orders: ₹64,000
- Next 5,000 orders: ₹69,000
- Next 10,000 orders: ₹74,000
Under BaaS, Zeno offers both prepaid and postpaid plans. Prepaid includes:
- Basic: ₹1,500/month for 48kWh (approx. 40 km/day)
- Advanced: ₹2,500/month for 120kWh (approx. 100 km/day)
Prefer pay-as-you-go? The postpaid model charges ₹52 per kWh used.
Features and Future Plans
The Emara features a 6.3-inch fully digital display showing ride stats and diagnostics. There’s no Bluetooth for now, but you do get four riding modes for different needs.
Need cargo space? Add up to 150 liters of lockable storage with a 100-liter rear box and 30-liter panniers – great for small business use or delivery tasks.
Looking ahead, Zeno plans to roll out its charging network in key areas starting late 2025, aiming for 20,000 charge points across India by 2029 – ensuring no rider is more than 2.5 km from a Zeno station in launch cities.
Zeno also teased the upcoming Emara ADV – an adventure version due in late 2026. It’ll feature jerry can-style battery extensions (8 kWh total capacity), a more powerful 10 kW motor, 19-inch front wheel, 100 kmph top speed, long-travel suspension, bash plates, and Bluetooth. The ADV will launch at ₹1.40 lakh for the first 5,000 units.
Pre-orders for the Emara are open now with a token amount of ₹999. Deliveries begin in Bengaluru by the end of 2025, expanding to Delhi, Mumbai, and Tier-II/III cities in 2026.
