The Roadster X electric motorcycle was first unveiled in February and marks Ola’s debut in the electric motorcycle space. Until now, the company has only dealt with electric scooters and has gained global coverage with the Ola S1 Pro. The Ola Roadster X has been the talk of the town since its launch and for a good reason. The new electric motorcycle comes with a very competitive price tag, a longer-range, and better riding than both electric bikes and some conventional motorcycles in the segment.
Variants and Specification
The Ola Roadster X comes in two categories – a standard Roadster X and a more efficient Roadster X+. The standard model is offered with three battery pack options to fit different riding styles and budgets. The 2.5 kWh base Roadster X has a rated range of 140 kilometers, while the 3.5 kWh mid-tier offers 196 kilometers.
The performance figures are equally interesting. The base variant achieves a top speed of 105 km/h, while it is capable of 118 km/h in the 3.5 kWh and 4.5 kWh versions. With the ability to clock 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, the Roadster X will outgun several conventional motorcycles at the traffic light.

Premium features
Like a smartphone on wheels, the Roadster X has a slew of extremely appealing features. The motorcycle has a 4.3-inch color LCD display from which all critical indicators can be easily viewed. Almost offering attributes include turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control, regenerative braking, and smartphone connectivity. Via Ola’s mobile application, which offers GPS connectivity, riding journals, and predictive maintenance, users can access numerous functions or attributes. The bike has different riding modes: Sports, Normal, and Eco, giving riders the ability to tailor their performance and distance.
Safety features have not been ruled out, and the Roadster X features single-channel ABS and Ola’s brake-by-wire system. The 17-inch alloy wheels on which the motorcycle is shod some fans might argue that it should have had a front disc to enhance the performance appeal, but nonetheless, Ola has installed drum brakes on both wheels of the bike.

Pricing and Market Position
Ola Electric has introduced the Roadster X as an inexpensive yet superior-quality product in the burgeoning electric vehicle segment. The standard Roadster X costs Rs 84,999, and the 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh versions are priced at Rs 94,999 and 1,04,999, respectively.
Indian Roadster X+ variant (available in a 4.5 kWh or 9.1 kWh mega battery pack) is priced from Rs 1.29 lakh. An exceptionally high claimed driving range of 501 km is one of the standout features of the top-end X+ with 9.1 kWh battery – which is said to use advanced 4680 Bharat Cell technology – but there’s a premium to be paid given it costs Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
This pricing also makes the Roadster X price-competitive with electric motorcycles such as the Oben Rorr EZ, the Revolt RV400 BRZ as well as traditional motorcycles in the 125-150cc capacity segment. For budget-minded riders interested in transitioning to electric, the Roadster X offers an attractive entry point for riders ready to leave ICE vehicles behind and move into some of the unparalleled torque and acceleration that come with electric power, and at a bargain price that’s rarely seen for new technology.
