MG Windsor Exclusive Pro Launched: JSW MG Motor India has further beefed up its EV range with the launch of the Windsor Exclusive Pro, which slots between the Essence and Essence Pro variants. Priced at Rs 17.25 lakh (ex-showroom), the new version comes with the bigger 52.9kWh battery pack and is meant to be relatively more affordable, costing Rs 85,000 less than the top-spec Essence Pro. Customers who opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model can buy the Exclusive Pro for Rs 12.24 lakh along with Rs 4.5/km of usage.
The debut comes in quick succession as a few days back MG introduced Windsor Essence Pro whose price shot up from an introductory Rs 17.50 lakh to Rs 18.10 lakh on the back of over 8,000 bookings. Deliveries for the all-new Exclusive Pro variant will start from the first week of June 2025, and booking amounts have been set at Rs 11,000.
Powertrain Details and Range
As with its costlier sibling, the Windsor Exclusive Pro is fitted with the beefier 52.9kWh lithium-ion battery that provides power enough for a best-in-segment MIDC-certified range of 449 kilometers on a single charge. This is a significant bump over the 331 kilometres that come standard in the 38kWh versions of the Windsor range of vehicles.
The Windsor Exclusive Pro has the same electric powertrain as the other models in the range under the hood. The front electric motor generates no less than 134 BHP and 200 Nm of torque, powering the front axle. It all results in a balanced, and as well-tuned as an orchestra, ride experience that efficiently sings a melody of efficient and sufficient performance for your everyday city commute.
The battery system utilises liquid cooling which keeps it at an optimal operating temperature, meaning performance is consistent in all conditions. To complete the peace of mind package, MG is also offering lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, and the 3-60 assured buyback plan which assures 60% value retention post three years.

Feature-Loaded Performance
The Windsor Exclusive Pro is chock full of options which position it as a strong contender in the electric crossover utility vehicle (CUV) market. Inside the cabin are Aero Lounge seats that recline 135 degrees providing limousine-like comfort for rear occupants. The contrast Ivory and Black interior theme gives the cabin a classy feel.
At the heart of the dash is a gigantic 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Nine speakers are added to the audio system, delivering an impressive, full sound to the cabin. i-Smart connected car technology, with more than 80 connected features and more than 100 AI-based voice commands, allows the Windsor Exclusive Pro to be as intuitive to use as a smartphone.
On the outside, the Exclusive Pro gets 18-inch machined alloy wheels for better looks and improved handling. It will be available in three color options – Pearl White, Starry Black, and Turquoise Green. The Windsor Exclusive Pro continues to sport the same bold design cues that have made the Windsor a head-turner on Indian roads.
What’s Missing Compared to Essence Pro
Although the Windsor Exclusive Pro represents great value, it misses out on a few high-end features seen in the top-spec Essence Pro. Most notably, it does not include the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite that offers features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, front collision warning, and intelligent headlamp control.
The Exclusive Pro also lacks the powered tailgate that adds convenience for loading and unloading. Much like a sports car without launch control, these features are noticeable omissions, but may not be deal-breakers given the lower pricing.
Also missing are vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities – features found on the Essence Pro. These allow the EV to power external gadgets or charge another EV in emergencies.
Pricing and Variant Strategy
Now, together with the Exclusive Pro, MG’s Windsor EV lineup includes five different versions targeting the budgets and feature priorities of varied customers. The base Excite version with the 38kWh battery costs Rs 14 lakh (or Rs 10 lakh plus Rs 3.9/km with BaaS), and the mid-range Exclusive and Essence trims with the same battery pack are placed at Rs 15.05 lakh and Rs 16.15 lakh respectively.
The new Exclusive Pro helps fill the price gap to the top-of-the-range Essence Pro, which now costs Rs 18.10 lakh (or Rs 13.09 lakh + Rs 4.5/km with BaaS). This pricing strategy makes the Windsor more competitive against rival electric SUVs while giving buyers the flexibility to choose between traditional purchase and the unique Battery-as-a-Service model.
If you are a bargain-hunter looking for the range boost of a bigger battery pack without the price jump of the fully-loaded model, the Windsor Exclusive Pro is the sweet spot. It reflects MG’s commitment to offering practical, premium EVs that strike a balance between innovation, comfort, and affordability for the Indian buyer.
