Honda CB750 Hornet to Make Its Debut in Indian Market This Week

Honda CB750 Hornet: Honda will introduce the long-awaited CB750 Hornet to the Indian market later this week. The middleweight naked streetfighter, which has taken the European market by storm this year, will finally arrive in Indian showrooms as a CBU. The CB750 Hornet will cost between Rs 8.80 lakh and Rs 9.20 lakh when it is launched ex-showroom. That price range makes it a highly competitive offering in the middleweight category, which has been relatively sparse over the previous few years.

The CB750 Hornet would be a dream come true for customers who have been itching to get their hands on a twin-cylinder naked bike with a balance of performance and practicality. The motorcycle will be the most recent addition to Honda’s expanding range of premium bikes, which has recently seen some intriguing big-bike debuts in the country.

Engine and Performance Specifications

The CB750 Hornet is powered by a 755cc parallel-twin engine similar to the XL750 Transalp ADV, which has been on sale in India for a while. The 750 Hornet’s liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine produces 92hp at 9,500rpm and 75Nm at 7,250rpm, delivering a distinct road presence thanks to its traditional 270-degree firing order. It comes standard with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper and assist clutch. This performance is complemented by an optional bi-directional quickshifter for anyone who wants to upgrade their experience. The CB750 Hornet does not have a lot of competitors in the market, although the closest is likely to be Honda’s own inline-four CB650R.

Design

The CB750 Hornet is a streetfighter at heart, and it shows in its design and ergonomics. The steel diamond frame is painted in a lovely metallic red hue that is accented by sharp body panels that make it stand out from the crowd. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with a full LED lighting setup, ensuring that passers-by will not only see you but that they will also see the stylish streetfighter you’re riding.

CB750 Hornet is also ergonomically designed to cater to riders from all walk, thanks to a seat height of just 795mm and a weight of nearly 190kg. The motorcycle feels just like a perfectly adjusted suit, as if each panel was specifically produced to sit next to the rider in tandem, drawing a harmonious connection between man and motorcycle.

Technology and Features

Despite its naked-root layout, the CB750 Hornet comes complete with a plethora of impressive technology that would put other producers to pity. For starters, the motorcycle features a 5-inch fully color TFT display that may be linked to the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system through the Honda RoadSync app.

Marketing Position and Competition

When the CB750 Hornet is launched in India, it will occupy a slightly unusual spot in the local two-wheeler market. Priced at Rs 8.80 to Rs 9.20 lakhs, ex-showroom, it will be almost directly in competition with Honda’s own CB650R. However, there is a lot more to the CB650R than just having a twin-cylinder configuration, while offering unique handling dynamics due to the inline-four configuration.

In the two-wheeler sector, there has been a lack of activity in the middleweight naked market, especially in the below-one-litre twin-cylinder capacity. Although the Aprilia Tuono 660, on paper, competes very well, with a price of Rs 17.44 lakhs, ex-showroom, it falls well outside the pricing area. Thus, this should leave the CB750 Hornet unchallenged with core performance substantially lower than its primary rivals, and with no suitable equal direct competition.

Production and Launch Schedule

Honda is likely to release the motorcycle in the next few days, according to published sources. The motorcycle is being imported as a CBU from Japan and will be available exclusively at BigWing Top Line with Honda’s top dealerships in India.

For Honda, the CB750 Hornet marks part of a larger endeavor to bolster its big bike portfolio in India. The CB750 Hornet will be joined by a slew of other Honda big bikes, including the new CB1000 Hornet, improved versions of the CB650R and CBR650R, and the X-ADV scooter.
